Dr. Kees (Cornelis) Davids
Kees Davids died on October 21, 2004 at the age of 73. We loose in him a friend and nice colleague, who worked almost his whole life on water mites. An orbituary has appeared in Entomologische Berichten, Amsterdam 65: 90-94. Harry Smit

Research Topics
1. Standard work on european water mites

Together with Dr. R. Gerecke, Dr. T. Gledhill, Dr. H. van der Hammen, Dr. A. di Sabatino and Dr. H. Smit. The work is planned for Central, Western and Northern Europe. My part deals on Hydrachnidae, Eylaidae, Limnocharidae and Unionicolidae. I finished the genera, Unionicola and Neumania, I will start with Eylais.
